The Universidad Central del Caribe (UCC), as an educational institution, is committed to excellence in education in all its academic programs. All efforts are directed towards the development of a dynamic curriculum that fulfills the standards of accrediting agencies, and most importantly, offers students the necessary opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and inherent competencies for the degree they are pursuing. In the same way, the UCC excels to provide the necessary support services to accomplish its academic goals and objectives.
UCC, as a specialized health sciences institution, has a mission statement that guides its academic activity. The mission emphasizes excellence of its educational programs, research activities and services of health maintenance, prevention, and early detection of illness. It is committed to improving the quality of life of the Puerto Rican community through its services, and the development of health care professionals.
The UCC counts with the license from the Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education (PRCHE). The UCC holds full accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and as well the program leading to the M.D. degree is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
